We’ve been visiting Laughlin Nevada on a regular basis since moving to Southern California in 2001. These days, instead of staying in a hotel, we bring our motorhome and camp at Big Bend of the Colorado State Recreation Area. We always reserve the same campsite because it is spacious, quiet, and offers beautiful views of the surrounding desert and mountains. Over the years we’ve explored other campgrounds in the area, but Big Bend remains our favorite.

Whenever we visit Laughlin, we make a point of exploring the surrounding region. One of our regular stops is Seligman, Arizona, where we check on the jewelry we have on display and see what pieces need to be replenished. We also stop by Kingman Turquoise to pick up raw materials for future projects. Depending on the trip, we may venture to Lake Mead, Kingman, or the historic mining town of Oatman.

One of the things we enjoy most about this area is the striking contrast between the Colorado River and the rugged desert landscape. The deep blue water set against the colorful mountains creates some truly beautiful scenery and is one of the reasons we keep returning year after year.
