Don Laughlin’s Classic Car Collection is one of the hidden gems in Laughlin and well worth a visit. The collection features far more than just classic automobiles. Along with dozens of beautifully restored cars, visitors can see unique pieces of transportation history, including a Soap Box Derby racer and a DeLorean made famous by the Back to the Future movies.

One vehicle that caught our attention was a Plymouth Fury because it was the same model as Karen’s first car—although hers was bright red. The museum also displays a stunning 1963 Split-Window Corvette, considered by many collectors to be one of the most desirable American sports cars ever produced.

The collection extends beyond automobiles as well. Among the highlights are a rare 50cc Harley-Davidson motorcycle and a 1950 Whizzer Sportsman motorbike. Another fascinating exhibit is the 1980 Honda Gold Wing ridden by adventurer Emilio Scotto during his epic journey around the world. Over the course of ten years, Scotto traveled through 214 countries and covered more than 457,000 miles. I first read about his incredible adventure in the 1990s, and it was exciting to see the very motorcycle that carried him on one of the greatest overland journeys ever undertaken.
