Borrego Springs is surrounded by the Anza-Borrego Desert State Park. We have gone to visit the area at least 10 times over the years to see wildflowers. Of the 10 times we have been there it has rained probably 6 or 7 of those visits and they only get an average of 5.2 inches of rain per year. I told the visitors center they need to hire me to come and bring rain. LOL We still always have a great time there. This year there was not a single wildflower to be found anywhere.

When you are camping you need to make reservations 6 months in advance if you want to stay at the State Park and almost a year in advance at other private campgrounds because they get a lot of snowbirds. So 6 months to a year in advance you are guessing when they might get a wildflower bloom. Then there are some years like 2025 when they simply don't get any flowers.
