Mesa Verde National Park is a treasure trove of Ancestral Puebloan history. Established in 1906, this UNESCO World Heritage Site protects over 5,000 archaeological sites, including the famed cliff dwellings carved into the canyon walls. Cliff Palace, the largest cliff dwelling in North America, is just one of the many awe-inspiring structures.

Visiting Mesa Verde we based out of Cortez Colorado. There are a number of ancient Puebloan dwellings / area around like at  Hovenweep National Monument. This archaeological treasure trove boasts six groups of villages built between 1200 and 1300 AD, showcasing their impressive stonework in towers, kivas, and dwellings. There is also Canyons of the Ancients National Monument.
