Washoe Lake State Park Campground is a scenic campground located on the shores of Washoe Lake. It is just a short drive from Reno and Carson City, Nevada. The campground offers 49 campsites, each with a table, grill, and fire ring. Some sites also have shade structures, with water and electric hookups. Washoe Lake is a popular destination for a variety of outdoor activities, including camping, fishing, boating, hiking, and bird watching. The park is also home to a variety of wildlife, including wild horses, deer, and coyotes. We saw a number of wild horses and heard Coyotes.

It is a first come first served campground where you drive though looking for any open sites. When you spot one you go back to the Kiosk at the entrance and see if you can reserve it. We were lucky and got the very last open campsite and it also had a fabulous view of the snow covered mountains. I heard they were going to change it in 2024 to be that you could reserve on line up to 6 months in advance.
