Hawthorne Nevada has a couple of excellent museums,  The Mineral County Museum and the Hawthorne Ordnance Museum. Driving into town we saw a number of above ground ammunition bunkers. The Hawthorne Army Depot located in Hawthorne is the largest ammunition depot in the world and because of the depot, Hawthorne bills itself as “America’s Patriotic Home”. Both museums in Hawthorne were very good and educational.
