Grand Canyon Caverns is a family run business that has motel rooms, gift shop, gas, campground, large bunkhouses, a cafe and of course the caverns which they offer tours of. We had been just driving past this place for years with me thinking oh its just a tourist trap. Then finally I asked myself, what is Route 66 all about, but tourist traps and the ones that have gone out of business. So I decided it was time to visit it and take a tour of the caverns. I was pleasantly surprised they do a very good job displaying and showing the caverns and the tour was also very good. I mean, if a tourist trap from the old days of Route 66 is going to survive they need to be good. The food at the cafe is pretty good also.

This time we ate lunch in our motor home in the parking lot of the gas station, the area is huge. Then we wandered about the grounds looking at all the old cars and dinosaurs. We probably spent an hour just wandering around. The Grand Canyon Caverns is well worth stopping to see and if you have the time take a tour of the caverns.
