Flickr is now limiting the number of photos I can have so these will age out in a year or so.

While in Baton Rouge we were in a hotel on the Mississippi River front. The castle to the left is the original state capitol building built from 1929 to 1932and is now a museum. The colored glass done is inside the castle. The building to the lower left is the new state capitol building. The new building is modeled after the Nebraska State Capitol building with one exception. Governor Huey Long wanted it taller then Nebraska so it is the tallest state capitol building in the US.

The Mississippi was very high while we were there and as always there was a lot of barge traffic on the river. From our hotel we could walk to the old capitol, many restaurants and down to the Mississippi river.
