Hot Air Balloon Ride

  

click photo to enlarge		 This was another Groupon deal that has been showing up for some time. It included a champagne toast, the balloon ride and breakfast afterwards. The one downside was I booked this in the middle of summer which meant sunrise was very early. We had to get up at like 4:00 am to have our coffee and drive 45 minutes to the balloon ride. That can be a challenge in the Diff household. It was also one of those things I had to talk my wife into trying. <grin> She tends to be a bit more grounded then I am. But nothing will ever top the 10 years it took to convince her to go snowmobiling in Yellowstone.

click photo to enlarge		 When all was said and done we had a fun time. We have been to the Albuquerque Balloon Festival and other hot air balloon events but never been up in one. It was amazing how the air seems so still up in the balloon because you are drifting with it. It was very quiet except for all the dogs down below barking at the balloon when the pilot would hit the flame. That was kind of loud and I guess the dogs didn't like it.
