click photo to enlarge	Palm Beach and West Palm Beach are separated by the Intracostal Waterways. These photos are from both towns. Palm Beach is the eastern most part of Florida and was established as a resort town by Henry Morrison Flagler whose mansion is in the picture to the left. Of course Palm Beach became famous for the hanging chads incident for Palm Beach county in the 2000 Bush Gore election. Karen and I were very surprised at the apparent money and the number and size of the boats.
click photo to enlarge	Palm Beach is classified as a tropical rainforest climate and Jupiter, where our son lives, is one of the top 10 warmest cities in the United States for the average year round temperature. Over half the population in Palm Beach is over 65 years old and we certainly saw a number of drivers who maybe should not have been driving anymore. According to wikipedia the average family income in Palm Beach is $137k per year. One of the richest places in the US. We have never seen so many huge expensive boats / yachts before.
