The Henry Ford Museum is an indoor and outdoor museum complex and well worth the time to visit. There are many things of historical significance such as John F. Kennedy's presidential limousine, Abraham Lincoln's chair from Ford's Theatre, Thomas Edison's laboratory, the Wright Brothers' bicycle shop and many more. We only had one hour to spare because we were in the area for a wedding not site seeing. his mean I had to get Karen out of bed and to the museum then back to the room to change for the wedding. <grin>

Of course as I am nearing the end of my working career I had to get this photo of McDonalds as that was my first job and yes a hamburger was $.015 when I started there in 1971 and my first car was a Ford Falcon. For lunch break you got $1.50 to spend and the girls couldn't even eat that much. There were so many things to see and we had such a short amount of time some day I would love to go back again as we only scratched the surface.

From the Henry Ford Museum web site "It began as a simple yet bold idea to document the genius of ordinary people by recognizing and preserving the objects they used in the course of their everyday lives. It grew into the ultimate place to explore what Americans past and present have imagined and invented — a remarkable destination that brings American ideas and innovations to life." Everything in the museum is very well displayed and presented. AND they actually served food in this diner inside the museum. Too cool.
