Upland, California

We have taken walking tours of a number of the surrounding cites but there never was one for our own city, Upland. Ann Lara, who also volunteers at the Cooper Museum in downtown Upland, put one together. She has done a magnificent job of digging out the history and making the tour education and fun. Now, I may be biased because I live in Upland, but I think her tour is the best.

The Cooper Museum is also a good stop after the tour. There are a number of interesting and historic buildings in downtown upland and Ann has the stories to go along with the buildings. The old fire house in the top picture has been restored but currently you can't get in to see it.  :-(

There is a brief stop at Local Baker where you can purchase coffee or a breakfast and the food there is really very good. Next door is Roy's Cyclery with the old Schwinn sign. There is even an International Order of Odd Fellows (IOOF) building in town dated 1901. I didn't even know it was there.
