Mt. Baldy Notch

The Mt. Baldy Notch restaurant is at 7,300 ft elevation and we have been up there twice now this year and may make a third trip if Karen's sister is up to it. The higher in elevation you go the bluer the sky gets and on this day we have beautiful clouds. This made for some great HDR photographs. The ski lifts were built in the 1940s so for sure are old school.

Management at the Baldy Notch has done a really good job doing things to attract people during the summer months like breakfast hikes, full moon night hikes, groupon deals etc. Working at the Mt. Baldy visitors center we get a lot of people asking for directions to the ski lifts so have certainly noticed the last few years a big increase in this. 10 years ago it was pretty rare for somebody to come in and ask that question.

The views from up here are always gorgeous. You can go to the north side and see the upper desert or on the south side the view down San Antonio canyon. To the west is Mt. Baldy and to the east the three T's mountain peaks. The picture at the bottom here shows the Notch restaurant and the view  looking west. The food here is really pretty good also.
