Lunch at Mt. Baldy

The Mt. Baldy Ski Resort had a great offer on Living Social. Two round trip rides on the ski lift and $20 to spend on lunch for only $29. Well, I couldn't pass up a deal like that even though I do have a hard time dealing with the ride back down due to my fear of heights. My wife, daughter and her partner went up to enjoy lunch. They all enjoyed making fun of me panicking on the way down. I was doing pretty good until the thing stopped which caused it to sway back and forth while you have a billion feet in the air.... dangling.. swaying... ummmm I'm having a panic attack thinking about it...

As usual it was a pretty day up in the mountains. The chair ride drops you off at what is called the Baldy Notch at about 7,800 ft. elevation. Walking around we saw the area where they do tubing in the winter. We had a lot of people this past season asking us at the visitors center how to get to the ski resort so it was kind of nice to see it.

Walking around up there you could see the upper desert, back down into San Antonio Canyon and all of the different ski runs they have. This was the first time we had eaten there and the food was pretty good. Their web site shows they are now doing sunset star gazing and dinner and also Rock at the Top concerts. Hmmm it's just that ride back down... LOL
