Cottonwood has a nice quaint historic area. We went to eat at Bings Burger Station in an old historic gas station building. Their web site promises "We do things the old fashion way at Bing’s Burger Station—fresh and simple. Our Deluxe Burger is made from 100% pure ground chuck that is fresh, never frozen. The meat is hand pattied daily and cooked to juicy perfection right before your eyes." so I had to try it. The only problem was the owners had taken a vacation so it was closed. We had read about it in Arizona Highways magazine so decided to give it a go.

A shop called Ye Old Hippie Emporium... well I just had to go inside this place. It was loaded with all kinds of tie dyed clothing, bong pipes for smoking.. ummm, whatever you might want to smoke in a bong and of course 60's style love beads. A real throw back to the 60s and 70s.

There are a number of antique stores we wandered though. The buildings had the false fronts and the raised sidewalks. All in all it was an interesting place to visit and now I have to go back again when Bin's is open.
