I was at Stanford University for a Wireshark conference. Wireshark is a tool used to capture and analyze packets on a network. This is for those who love to go deep into what goes on in a network. How things get delivered over the wire when you start your internet browser for example. So it is kind of the ultimate Geek or computer nerd conference.

What a beautiful campus Stanford is. Each morning  I would wake up early and walk the campus and take a few pictures. With Stanford being located in  Palo Alto there are many buildings named after those who donated money to the school such as Bill Hewlett, David Packard, Bill Gates. One I sure didn't see was Steve Jobs... Hmmmm Maybe he can't afford to donate money.

The 8,180 acre campus was founded by Leland Stanford in 1891 in honor of his son who died at the age of 16. Leland made his money in railroading. Stanford faculty and alumni founded Hewlett-Packard, Electronic Arts, Sun Microsystems, Yahoo!, Cisco Systems, and Google. When I would wander the campus I couldn't help but wonder if the kids that were able to attend this school had any idea how lucky they were. I know I sure couldn't afford it.
