Perkinsville Road

We had read about this drive in Arizona Highways magazine so decided to give
it a go. Perkinsville Rd. goes between Williams AZ and Jerome Az. It starts in
Williams as a paved road for the first 20 or so miles then becomes dirt. Just
outside of Williams is a forest road up Bill Williams mountain to a fire
tower. This view is from near the top of the mountain. There is a bit of smoke
in the distance from a fire that was burning. |

This shot is in Perkinsville. The drive starts out in Williams in beautiful
Ponderosa Pines on the Mogollon rim. From there it drops down into the Verde
Valley and Perkinsville before climbing again to go into Jerome. |

There were a few people fishing in the Verde river here near the bridge.
The scenery started getting more red as we got closer to Jerome. As you
get closer to Jerome you start climbing along an old railroad bed. |
