Elvis was born and lived in this house in Tupelo Mississippi until the age of
13 when his parents moved to Memphis. On the grounds they have a museum, the
house and of course a gift shop with all things Elvis. Many of the things on
display in the museum are the private collection of Janelle McComb a special
  friend of Elvis. |

Elvis was born Elvis Aaron Presley on January 8, 1935 in this house. His
father Vernon Elvis Presley built this house for $180. The furniture in the
house is not the actual furniture but is accurate for that time period. |

When Elvis was a young boy he used to carry his guitar with him to school
and would often play it for the other school children. When Elvis was
entering the 8th grade his father moved the family to Memphis but before
they left Elvis put on a concert for the kids in Tupelo. |
