Playing in the Santa Monica Mountains

One of the great things about living out here on the left coast is the variety of terrains. We can be driving in the mountains and go to the beach, or playing in the desert. This day was a drive in the Santa Monica Mountains above Malibu organized by a friend who loves to play in this area. He used to drive a Miata but graduated to a Lotus. This picture is taken from a viewpoint overlooking the Pacific Ocean.

This pictures shows some of the great scenery we saw this day. As has become somewhat typical for us we drive at the back so if I want to stop to take a photo we do. At some point we usually catch up with the group where they have stopped.

Karen and I peeled off from the group to go eat at Neptune's Net. I had read about it in one of my motorcycle magazines and it sounded pretty cool. The food was good, reasonably priced and the views great. However the LOUD Harley's ruined it. There were so many that were so loud it was obnoxious. Below is our friend's Lotus busting out of the photograph. All in all it was a very enjoyable romp in the Santa Monica Mountains.
